Following Plan Projects successful participation in Property Week’s Meanwhile Competition at the start of the year the practice has been collaborating with the architectural practice, Dallas Pierce Quintero, to develop a programme of activity that will help restore value to a redundant site along Silvertown Way, adjacent to Canning Town DLR.
London Development Agency, who own the land, and Design for London have taken a keen interest in the project and have been providing support and advice in devising a workable approach.
The working title for our scheme is ‘Playscape.’ We aim to create a series of mutually reinforcing uses that combine commercial viability, attractiveness to the local community, relevance to the regeneration taking place in the surrounding area and value to the eventual development that takes place on the site.
Playscape will sit at the intersection between creative expression, economic development, social inclusiveness and environmental improvement and, as such, will offer a powerful motor for the regeneration of Canning Town.
